finally getting around to listening to this and doing my black metal homework, I'm still a novice with the genre honestly. This is freaking amazing though it sounds more like folk-metal than black metal to me. Took me awhile to actually begin to enjoy Burzum and look into black metal, but I'm loving this right on my first listen. Great shit.

will do guys, thanks for the recs. I just listened to this entire album on my iPod while walking around a creepy graveyard and deserted pier at 2AM with the cold October air. I thought that would be the best way to experience this album, on a creepy midnight stroll. I was correct. This is some of the most haunting yet beautiful music I think I've ever heard. They even use monks singing at one point and it doesn't sound the least bit contrived or trite. This will probably be a 5 for me, need to give it another proper listen, for now 4.5.
