I'd go into all the ways Johnny is wrong but I simply don't have the time

I think this has been said about 22600 times now

"When I grow up, I wanna be a heretic"

That line is dope, tf.

No Control fucking sucks. Gotta be a personal song to the band or something, because it definitely did not make the album based off its musical merits lol.

Definitely one of the most musically fulfilling moments of the song, if not the album.

wish that outro on 'Out of Mana' were extended into a full song

Same with the outro for No Control. Seems like it would have been a huge rocker.

Also, I think Desert is the best 'chill' song they've ever made. Better than Jesus Christ.

"I'd go into all the ways Johnny is wrong but I simply don't have the time"
*raises both eyebrows and sips coffee*
"emember when I said “delivery >>> lyrical content”"
Bit moot when the delivery emphasizes the content as much as that one does. It kinda annoys me, bc everything else about that song (inc. lyrics) is absolutely on point and up there with their best, and then they took a clunker like that and dropped it as the focal moment of the whole track. Goes directly against the show, don't tell approach the rest of the song adopts v well - like, if you're gonna demystify your whole mood + suspense that way, don't do it in a way that sounds directly ripped from every 13 y/o's Guilty Catholic diary. Song is still a huge winner

Jesus is probably a top 5 BN song, those are fighting words to put desert above it lol

too 5 for me would prob be limousine, jesus, noro, sowing season, lit me up
probably round out a top 10 with vices, 137, you won’t know, degausser, maybe out of mana or something else off daisy

that’s what makes daisy unusual to me, it’s my favorite start to finish but Noro is the only real standout. TDAG has most of the best stuff but also the most clunkers. SF strikes a balance

YFW and Deja don’t exist as far as I’m concerned

When I say this album has (just a few) clunker lyrics I’m referring to shit like

“You and I were stuck like glue,
and that’s the goddamn truth,
Baby bye-bye...”

Lol there are definitely a few like that where I feel like Jesse just pulled something out of his ass that rhymed to complete the song

Jesus Christ is good, but it’s the “Creep” (also a good song) of Brand New imo. Kinda basic compared to their grander tracks.
