How is it not? And also this album places major emphasis on shoegaze which a lot of black gaze doesn't. A lot of black gaze is darker and less melodic. This is the perfect blend because it has a little bit of everything. And it still manages to stay pretty. It's as if My Bloody Valentine met Der Weg Einer Freiheit with Beach Boys and GYBE

It's very spacey and has alternative rock accessibility which much of blackgaze doesn't have. If we're hating based on what it's broken down into we'd hate Loveless because of Pink Floyd and The Beatles. Seems Loveless overlooks its foundations and sparkles as its own but this is considered crap because of its predecessors, which is what I got at about us might as well going back to us being primates

A lot are like "uhh Alcest and Lantlos did this years ago" and I'm just gonna say they may have laid the foundation, but this took the foundation and made the Burj Khalifa which hasn't been met yet but I'm open to seeing someone beat it



Many have made the Impire State Building or Sears Tower, which are cute and tall but compared they still aren't as good.

Cuz I think this album is a classic? Because it is. Nothing in its "scene" rivals it.

I don't even dislike this album, I just think it's massively overrated and not barely as significant as people make it out to be.

You seem over-annoyed at this album. Maybe it is not the most incredible album ever, but I don't see why show off contempt towards it and who likes it. I think it is undeniable that it has positive characteristics( as you can see by votes given by more than 2000 people), so calling it a pastiche of shit seem to me only wanting to go against the current.

It's one of the highest rated albums ever and I agree with it. Most of the highly rated albums are overzealous and whatnot but I can't tell you another album I have listened to am religiously than this album. It never gets old and always feels fresh. It's a true classic. Album deserves the highest of praise and a mediocre 4 is not enough for what it is but looking at the spread, there are a lot of 4.5's which is refreshing. But it still deserves more than a 4, especially after looking at the spread but I'm not gonna do the math. I'm an engineer and that's my life anyway. Not gonna do more than I have to. But I'm just saying the collection of these songs are better than their respective genres. Album deserves what it has and that's that.
