I still buy CDs also, but really only listen to them in the car. At home, it’s Spotify through my TV/sound bar or on my Bose headphones.

last.fm has the better wrap up for the year anyway, but it's still stupid that these guys got scrubbed and not chris brown or r. kelly 🤷

"Only if it happened in the 00s and went viral"

Correct. Spotify just lost my respect.

You guys are just mad about some lists? c'mon now lol, their music is still on Spotify. I mean yea it's kind of silly to not have it listed as your top or w/e for no apparent reason but I don't think it's a big deal. Maybe I'm just missing the sarcasm.

I don't use spotify much, so the list shit doesnt apply to me. However, a corporation using situational ethics (biased, uneven, and morally blindsided) in this manner is something that really pisses me off. It translates that its ok for an artist to be a murderer, racist, genuine piece of shit human being, but not a sexual predator, hell no, strictly based off them being allowed on a list, or whatever. Thats something to be pissed about tbh.

Wow, seriously?

They just caused themselves some decent backlash - even if you’re not a fan of the band it definitely calls into question what else they manipulate.

Yeah it’s really weird, because like who are they to decide my ethics? I don’t have to choose to share the wrapped thing anyways and even then if you’re listening to Brand New enough that they’re in your too artists/songs you probably don’t care if other people know you listen to them

“who are they to decide my ethics?”

Absolutely. It completely undermines the concept of freedom of expression.

And it's not like anybody would have incriminated them for leaving the band on the Wrapped lists - if the artist is available on their platform, they can't blame me for choosing to listen to them. If it were really that big a deal they would remove BN from the platform altogether. That I could understand (even if I don't agree with it.)

I heard a rumour that Spotify has banned Skype from 12 countries. Unacceptable.
