vertigo is cool but it drags for too long, i have to skip please remember, and i haven't listened to the pecan tree in a while i'll have to revisit that. everything else though i feel like it's a good 3.5. maybe a 4 after i revisit it

^there is no worst one. I'm shocked this album is only at a 4. Should be 4.2+ for sure. I could easily see a 4.3 but then again I haven't seen another blackgaze above 3.8 so I guess a 4 is ahead. But still it's underrated.
Still as good as it was (if not better in 2015) in 2013

it's somewhat saddening that people still keep shitting on this album because bands like lantlos and alcest did blackgaze before deafheaven. also less accessible =/= more rewarding

I do prefer Alcest but it's not like this band didn't do this style well so I don't see the problem.

i think this is a lot better than anything alcest has ever made

Alcest>Lantlos>Deafheaven, All three bands are incredible to me; one amazing album each, along w/ two or three other great releases. Ecailles is the best of all their discographies though if I had to pick a top favorite.

This is definitely better than anything they've made outside of Ecallies imo at least. That album resonates with me so fucking much.

As much as I love Alcest's other material this is probably better.

ecailles isn't even alcest's best as far as i'm concerned--it's just one of their two releases that could reasonably be called blackgaze or post-black (though the title track is obviously the high-water mark of pretty much all of this stuff). still, ecailles and le secret just do that style better than this does.
