The synths across the whole fucking thing are incredible. I don’t think anything will ever top Eye of Every Storm for me but I could so easily see this being my second favorite with time.

Im well aware of how important they are to me and my friends and people in the scene I know in general but to see all the outpouring of joy today on here on socials, whats app groups etc etc etc has been amazing. Anyone emotionally invested over the years in Neurosis had it took away in the worst circumstances and none of us ever thought we would see this day. I was hearbroken felt betrayed even over Scott tand the way the band were talking about their work being tarnished it was all so fking grim man but TODAY (well yesterday now for me) we got our Neurosis back and they even sound better than ever.

Well said deez… it still feels surreal to me. I cannot believe they’re back, and I cannot believe they’re back and made something that fucking good. like three pages back (literally last night) I was saying I wouldn’t even want the band to come back without Scott, and also don’t think I could support them if they did get him back. I ate my fucking words because I’m absolutely loving the new record and nabbing Aaron Turner is such a brilliant move but still somehow so unexpected.
Could very well end up being my aoty, need to get my hands on some lyrics. Blind and Last Light are already among the very best songs they ever made.

But it's like unreachable expectations have been passed and unexpected greatness with a huge dash of nostalgia and infinite future possibilities has been achieved and fully realized

Honestly all the neurosis tattoos I have involve this album (which was my favorite album oat for years) and it's still a top 10 oat album for me but tbh these days I probably love astns and teoes even more than it
