I think my least favorite part of the remaster is the re-recorded vocals.

Are the vocals really re-recorded?

@Ocean Supposedly they are, and they sound like shit too. The drum sound is fine imo, but they add too much treble to the album which drowns the bass a bit. Too sterile if you ask me. The original drum sounds much punchier too imo.

That's why Take No Prisoners sounds like shit on it. Either way, most of us can agree the original is better.

for sure, although it has more to do with the mixing/mastering than the vocals

See, if they want to make remastered versions, that's fine. Whatever. But they shouldn't ONLY sell the remastered versions and let the originals go out of print.

@Dominion Absolutely. I guess they attempted to make it sound more new but it was a failure overall.

@Ocean Totally.

The original recording on vinyl is well worth seeking out. Or played on tape via a Sony Walkman if you want a real vintage experience :D

the vinyl reissue is the same as the op although I'm not sure it was taken from the original analogue masters

The Hangar solo trade off is still the best thing ever.

They ruined Tornado of souls in the remaster. Thus, I've discarded the CD

yup the re-recorded vocals are the worst
