sounds like shoegaze but with an acoustic guitar. That lead guitar is really Godspeed-y, so check them if you haven't already. I'm not big on shoegaze so idk if there are other bands that do that.

I don't know too much of the ins and outs of this album, but Les Discrets sounds fairly similar to that clip you posted. Minus that obvious godspeed thing going on.

Fursy's vox are sooooooo good tho. Maybe try the new Lantlos?
|

Newest Lantlos is the worst in my opinion, but still enjoyable. I liked the doomy direction they were going in with Agape.

^Newest Lantlos is lovely. It sounds like floating around a lazy river with an ice cold lemonade in hand. Golden Mind VI especially. It's like a drug.

I'm glad Lantlos changed their direction, I didn't expect it but I ended up loving it.

Lantlos and Alcest changing direction isn't jarring at all. I love it. Especially Alcest changing direction, I mean, let's face it, neige wasn't really black metal to begin with. Shelter is basically Souvenirs without fast drums. Lantlos were somewhat heavy in parts of Neon and Agape but they really weren't as heavy as Sunbather.

It would be cool to see Deafheaven do a pure shoegaze album now. Use instrumentals from Sunbather but go a lot softer. It would be pretty. Don't know how well George Clark can actually sing. But it's a thought. I just love shoegaze tho

oh he was very much black metal before souvenirs
anyway Cold Body Radiation's debut is some really good post-y blackgaze (with actual gaze). also, any of An Autumn for Crippled Children's last 3 albums

Takes post-black in a bit more of a hardcore rather than shoegazey direction, but the newest All Fours album by Bosse-de-Nage is one of the best in the genre.

meehh. i second the new bosse-de-nage though

everything Crippled Children has done sounds the same tho :/
And the transition from doomy Agape to dreamy Melting Sun was a pretty big change; it wasn't a smooth transition at all. I liked it, but to say it wasn't "jarring" imo is a bit untrue.

Agape would have been my favorite if they'd left "White Miasma" on as the closer instead of on a separate disc.

just pretend like they did anyway. bonus tracks still count!
edit: or just say that the deluxe edition is your favorite :3

Listening to Cold Body Radiation, Autumn for Crippled Children, & Bosse-De-Nage. So far I'm liking it but the problem with this album is that most other blackgaze doesn't sound quite as good. The closest thing I've found to this is Archivist's self-titled

I like my black-gaze to be a little slower than this. Less black, more gaze.
