heard that Steph said new record will be like koi and ohms, so I guess they’re some kind of trilogy (minus Gore) which kinda makes sense

Gore was mad inconsistent and Ohms kinda wore off me so I've got high hopes for the new one

This is probably their most beautiful and atmospheric record...but also I've found it profoundly boring the past few months. Hope that changes

There's usually always at least one of their records that's fresh for me... at the moment it's fucking Gore believe it or not. I guess because I've hardly listened to it since it came out lmao

No doubt. This album hits me in a way no other tones does anymore. Definitely biased as it came out when I first really got into them tho

Couple tracks here I could do without but the highlights are sky high

Goon Squad and Gauze are hella underrated

i just love how dreamy and ethereal this is. wrist is great but this just takes that stuff to the max. pretty dream pop-y at points. makes me sad they didn't keep pushing in this direction.

Agreed, Wrist and Diamond Eyes are the only ones that really comes close as far as those ethereal vibes.

From what it sounds like the new album is a continuation of this one and Ohms, so hopefully more stuff like that on the horizon

I know man, I was really hoping we’d get something before this tour

Mars Volta playing their new album in its entirety before it drops is cool, but god damn I’ve never gotten to see them. I’d have loved for them to play some of their classic material and maybe just pepper in a few new songs
