I prefer Colored Sands to any Neurosis since ASTNS and guts’ consistency is phenomenal, so I’m gonna assume the dm legends will take it (if they finally release the damn thing!)

Just finished The Eye of Every Storm, and nearly halfway through Souls at Zero. So far, I have to say Souls at Zero is the best album I've heard by far. Not that Eye of Every Storm or their newest is bad, but Souls at Zero seems to have a lot more energy, the tempo feels more fast paced, and I definitely dig the higher register vocals more. I'll probably listen to Enemy of the Sun next.

I mean yeah, you should go in order and see their progression from Souls at Zero to Eye of Every Storm. You'll appreciate Eye of Every Storm like 10000x more if you do that.

Souls is a beast. Totally unique.
Eye & Souls were 1/2 on my irrefutably accurate (lol) accessibility scale but for very different to each other, obviously. Souls definitely retains the hardcore of the roots and is great for anyone who’s seeking that energy (or variety to be honest, there’s a hint of what’s to come but it doesn’t stay in one lane for as often as a few of their latter albums)
