The Mantle just drags in some parts for me. Still a great album. I don't know how this has no effect on you though. I mean come on what's not to love?

Hawks, which parts of The Mantle do you think drag? I think the entire album is completely solid. Not a second wasted. As for Ashes, as I stated before, Fortress III is just a waste of seven minutes. It's cool, sure, but why not just have it last for two or so minutes and tag it onto Bloodbirds?

It drags sometimes during the instrumentals. They're not bad or anything, but I feel like they could've been cut down a little bit.

The Mantle used to bore me to tears but it might be my favorite now I don't know...it just feels complete.

It used to bore me a lot more than it does now. I still love it and it's an easy 4.5, but I just feel this and Pale Folklore are better. Don't know if I like Marrow of the Spirit better than it yet.

That's just for right now. Marrow could eventually pass up The Mantle, but that's how it is for now.

Haha well none of the albums are under a 4.5 so it doesn't really matter how they're ranked.

In the Shadow of Our Pale Companion is fucking magical. That's how good it is.

That's definitely one of my favorite Agalloch songs, so is I am the Wooden Doors. Those are the standouts for me on that album. My overall favorite Agalloch song is Falling Snow.

I Am the Wooden Doors is my least favorite on The Mantle, including the instrumentals.

But really the lyrics on the whole album are so good. I especially get chills at the passage in Pale Companion where

Haughm whispers:

"if this grand panorama before me is what you call god *dramatic pause* then god is not dead..."
