This is much more enjoyable than anything Spiritbox did in the last few years

By far. I really do not get the hype with that band

No. The only Sb albums I could see this argument made for are Tsunami Sea and Rotoscope, and even they have so much more replay value imo. You can't tell me a record with Soft Spine or Sew Me Up on it is below this.

I listened to Soft Spine once and found it pretty forgettable

Okay... I may be biased towards metal but I just think Spiritbox sounds way less annoying and artificial. How about, say, Ride the Wave? Jaded? Cellar Door?

Spirit box is very boring to me, this isnt even that great but for some reason it just works and is fun. Neither Poppy or Spirit box are pushing the boundary in what they are doing. Especially now it seems that Poppy is sticking with the sound rather than genre hopping/splicing

I'll listen to the album again tomorrow, I'll report back I really liked the first two EPs by Spiritbox tbf. Eternal Blue had its moments too.

Don't get me wrong, their first two were a completely different genre so it makes sense to dislike what came afterwards. I think they've been getting progressively worse, but I feel they're not exactly inside the kingdom of boredom yet.

Poppy is goated for EAT alone. Straight up one of the best EPs of all time
I like this record too but Eat is fucking untouchable

Yeah I really don’t get the hype for them, Courtney is a hell of a vocalist but god instrumentally they could put me to sleep

I will say they do put on a good live show, I saw them open for… someone, I don’t fuckin remember

Courtney is cool agreed, but yeah, its just shitty djentcore instrumentally. Nothing about that style is engaging and I really don't understand how people dig it.

Okay, I just gave Tsunami Sea a re-run and I take back what I said earlier. It's not decent,
it's nigh on perfect. They struck ideal balance between their pop sensibilities and the Meshuggah influence, and I love how they scattered bits of RnB and breakcore throughout. The production is fucking stellar in how unnerving it is and how well it works on top of those bouncy grooves. Take out Crystal Roses and the closer and you have a 5/5 album.

1.5 at best agreed.

Spiritbox boring yea but I think it's not for me
|

Nah, it's dope. Soft Spine and Fata Morgana alone warrant a 3 at least.

It's just radio rock w breakdowns
