II was more of a grower for me. Took 5 spins to really get into it, whereas I fell in love with I instantly.

Is it just me or does Cretaceous have sections that sound quite similar to Tool?

I vote they make Jonas Renske a permanent member.

Oooo, A Chino Moreno guest spot in the future would be sweet too come to think of it. I could see him contrasting Loic very well

Woke up the other morning and the first thing that entered me head in almost crystal clear fashion was ‘out, out of the cave’
Weird.

This is varied enough to generate broader appeal, especially when compared with the rest of their discog thus far imo, so if you're not massively into post, then that would make sense. It's always a weird one attempting to judge 'accessibility' through someone else's ears, but I'm not shocked to hear you say that.

So can this can be considered their most progressive release yet? By comparison I'd say this makes Phanerozoic I look like a straight ahead metalcore record.

Other than this and Fluxion, all their albums are a bore according to my ratings

Fluxion is a good choice, but Precam is king.
