Hmmm, that's an interesting take. However, the US wasn't founded by immigrants, but by imperialists. It was built on natives, by immigrants, under the rule of imperialists (and later on by the ruling class).

Also, USA was by and large affected by the French revolution and European enlightenment, so Europe was also into those ''new things'', only burdened by its history of monarchy (like having two legs in two boats).

What's more, you don't need to be powerful as a group to be proud, and that's evident by all the populist states in decadent countries. And I'm not quite sure I understand this phrase

''the nation IS the most powerful superpower in the history of the world''

Is the op talking about the nation as a term or the nation of US? Because in either case, I have a strong feeling that they're wrong.

All in all, I do not claim to be an expert, neither do I think that I'm certainly correct, just expressing my thoughts and actually await for others' to discuss.

As I understand it Rody also wanted to express the ways in which America actually great. An interesting concept, I really dig the idea

Man even the b-sides have some top notch parts. both endings rip

Don't agree much with the statement on top, especially now that the 'golden age' is seen with such a patriotic, idealistic and history-rewriting lens, the commentary makes a lot of sense.

They're also on YT, but maybe you don't like the YT condensetion. Anyways, I was reading the commment idolizing the two B-Sides and I wasn't much interested in them, because the album itself is so rewarding, but let me say, I did not expect them to be THIS good.

I repeat, the tracks are sth else, don't miss them.

oh yeah the b-sides are very good, the bit with the ascending 7/8 (I think?) riffs at 4:17ish of Duelling Cavalier is spectacular
