So much salt damn. Well whaddayaknow Tundra we do indeed have similar 5's. I can completely understand why people hate most progcore music and the 5's that we have. Yet as a musician, I started to appreciate the musicality and thought put into these albums from a relatively young age. It adds an extra layer that I don't find in many other types of music. It's the sole reason I cannot stand Thrash metal. To me there's no thought behind it, just: 'This riff sounds badass, lets built a whole song around it and put some angry vocals over it'. Some people call that pure, I just find it uninspired and boring.
So musical technicality is definitely a part of the attraction for me, but also concepts. A lot of my 5's are concept albums which tells complete stories, rather then a collection of short songs. I have nothing against those, but I found that a lot of the best music I know has a strong cohesion throughout.
