The vocal effects on Head Mounted Sideways are almost cheesy but aren't

Chorus is memorable as hell just like the opener

I thought Applause was a strong 4 or light 4.5, and so far this seems like it's right on course to keep that momentum going...

New one feels a little heavier/darker whereas Applause was more atmospheric/picturesque. Not sure if those vibes will hold steady as this progresses, just an initial observation.

24 Light Years is anthemic as fuck

Love it

Edit: was NOT expecting the rap verses in These Black Claws

Edit #2: Freak screams "this is a ballad" a little too much for my liking but it's nice I guess

Napalm is good but a tad repetitive. The guitar riff at the end is a breath of fresh air.

Overall this thing is still shaping up to be a 4, excellent quality across the board with only a few shortcomings.

It's really just the performatively being embarrassed about once having been a nu metal fan in ones youth thing that makes people flinch at the idea of a combination of metal and rap.

Glad I don't have to do that.

Last 3 songs on Witness are definitely a solid streak

Gonna slap a 4 on that baby with the potential for a 0.5 bump in the future

after two spins, my rank is

1. Straight Lines

2. Future Bird

3. Inside Your Fur

4. Stone Leader Falling Down

5. 24 Light-Years

6. Napalm

7. Head Mounted Sideways

8. These Black Claws

9. Freak

but the last two are, at worst, 2.5s and in all honesty closer to 3s
