Just purchased Macabre, Kisou and (purportedly, if Amazon is to be 100% trusted) the 3 disc edition of The Unraveling. I’m heavily thinking about purchasing this and Arche to solidify my collection with my next paycheck.

Kisou is fantastic.

We’ll see if time has been kind. Last time I listened to it has been 4+ years ago.

Only time I've seen DEG was the Arche tour in 2015, great performance. DSS at Budokan is definitely the peak live video, though.
I wouldn't consider going to Japan to see them, unless they're doing something like playing Uroboros all the way through live maybe. Even then it would be dependent on expecting decent sound quality.
Have you guys seen the vocal coach reacting to DEG? They gave her some pretty good songs (Magayaso and Macabre 2013).

Shows how unique a vocalist Kyo is.

One of my friends who has been to many overseas and Japanese Dir shows (attended Mode Kisou, been a fan since early 00's) has said their sound is much better and consistent in Japan than in overseas shows, so that is not something to worry about. They don't have their full crew overseas compared to Japan, I've only heard about one show there having tech problems in recent years out of many tours so the thing that will determine sound quality is the venue itself. Maximum the Hormone is the number one band I want to see there as I've said earlier but if Dir are touring whilst I am there I'd probably go if I had the money. Also, regarding vocal coaches on Youtube I don't really trust any of them minus Zach Ainsley. Youtube vocal coaches are full of misinformation and pandering.

American fans, if you're poor to afford a trip to Japan to see them, they're coming back in December.

Shocked it happened but very happy for U.S. fans

Hopefully they'll actually have their sound quality in order this time...

Depends. I’ve been to pretty much almost every venue in NYC (Manhattan, Brooklyn, even Queens on a few occasions), and the sound at Gramercy’s one of the worst I’ve ever heard regardless of band.

Can confirm. Gramercy always sounds awful

@Acme You can have the full CalculatingInfinity experience, then.

I’ve been to the House Of Blues in Chicago; Sound was decent, but then again, I saw Chon and Polyphia that night, an unfair comparison in sound vs. Diru.

conflicted, i'm not a huge fan but i wanna go see them since the opportunity is rare but also don't wanna be surrounded by weebs

@Irony If this forthcoming show is a redux of the experience I had in 2015, then that would be my Calc experience.
It's kinda sad, I'll probably go but I have to say the Mr. Bungle reunion put a dent on my delight of seeing DEG returning to the states.

Yeah, the closest show for me is Cleveland and that's like a 3 hour drive for me, so id probably have to stay overnight at a hotel :/ odds are I won't go, but hope that if this tour is a success they decide to do more NA tours
