Well, like I really dig Altar of Plagues, and I think of them as post-black, but they don’t share many traits with blackgaze (at least the stuff I’ve heard).

Nah this is different than their other albums. Even more generic post-rock and cheesy derivative melodies that wouldn't be out of place in a Dream Theater ballad.
