Listening to nothing but tech death for a month last year kind of burnt me out on the genre. Too many tech death blogs claiming to have found the next great thing. I still have the return of Augury to check.

this is a lot more cohesive than the vast majority of modern tech death

and i wouldn't even call this that technical compared to other tech death bands

@Ghandhi I hear you. Listening to the same genre for a while kind of blends everything together and nothing feels that special anymore. This is probably not the next big thing but it's a pretty damn good album imo.

@Dewinged Yeah committing myself to a genre is a bad habit of mine.

"and i wouldn't even call this that technical compared to other tech death bands" I dont really know what the quintessential tech death would be. Like for me Spastic Ink, Nile and Watchtower are that. Stuff like Beyond Creation is just boring.

Its not the "technicality" that I take issue with.

what i meant was i don't see this as tech death. this is more prog death imo

i guess i can see why you wouldn't dig it if you jammed so much modern tech tho. there's some elements of it for sure. but these dudes know how to write a song. that's what stands out to me

Yeah but allot of tech death is prog related. StarGazer and Lykathea Aflame come to mind. You are right though. I wouldnt put this in the same box as necrophagist clones.

Why are we talking about tech death? This is clearly Slug-core.
