Renacer... front-ended...? What??? Back half has Glass, Ancient Tombs, and Between the Mountain and the Seas. Atmosphere across that entire album is unreal to me. Don’t really get the needing a fast song complaint. A fair chunk of the album is above mid-paced tempo-wise.

But yeah Thorns will always be Renacer’s substantially less interesting brother. Still a good album though

Last 4 songs on Renacer are significantly weaker than the rest of it. Between the Mountain and the Seas is not that good of a closer. There I said it. Holy Mountain is top 5 best SF songs but other than that I don't really return to it as much as I do their other stuff.

None of those last four songs are really bad but I just can't say the album rips the whole way through like some of their other albums that I mentioned do.

Renacer is great, I'd say it's my 3rd favorite.

LINAWR > this > Renacer > Still Searching = Let It Enfold You > The Fire > PTTFYH

Frost Flower is 5/5 I think Snake Bite is a tad weaker but that’s not saying much when the entire albums is nearly flawless in execution.

“between the mountains and the seas is like one of the best songs they’ve ever written and a top 3 sf closer” [2] hard

This album has some pretty corny lyrics but it clicked out of nowhere for me last week. I'd tried listening to it a few times when it came out and it did nothing for me.

This is extremely catchy but there's something about it I just can't take seriously

A lot of pop punk is super catchy but can't be taken too seriously due to the cheese but this album reminds me a lot of the pop punk from 1998-2004 that I love. Can't stomach most of those "pOp PuNk IsN't DeAd!!!!" bands that appeared around 2010/2011 so this album is hitting a good spot for me.

i think buddy's lyrics kind of got away from him here more than most albums. it's hard to take the more serious songs seriously when they're juxtaposed against some of his more ridiculous stuff in recent years

it's a lot easier to listen to renancer and feel the full impact of what he's saying

honestly it's not even the lyrics, I think I just can't take the screams seriously - they feel sorta contrived

but otherwise this is super catchy and fun, easily a top-5 pop punk album this year maybe a top 3

My top 5 pop-punk albums of 2018:

1) Antarctigo Vespucci - Love in the Time of E-Mail (catchiest fucking thing I've ever heard my goodness)

2) The Wonder Years - Sister Cities (mature pop-punk that's good for the heart & soul)

3) Senses Fail - If There Is Light, It Will Find You (best old fashioned pop-punk album in so long)

4) The Story So Far - Proper Dose (shocking level of improvement for this band)

5) Mayday Parade - Sunnyland (kind of a sleeper/dark horse, still real good though)

Anybody check out the new album "LION" from Punchline? Friend From the Future, Another Tale of Remember When, Sensory Overload, Can't Tell What's Real, and In the Powder Blue are some of the best songs I heard this year.

Sowing, have you checked Real Friends or Hot Mulligan? Because those two are better than all the albums you listed imo.
