It is funny how him and Kozelek share the same spot in the indiesphere (confrontational, hyper literate lyrics) these days. I'm a RHP and SKM addict, but I'll take Tillman's ruminations/music over Kozelek's new-ish brash approach at this point. Tillman has a more global reach, in addition to Kozelek's localized, specific lyrical style, that is generally more impressive. I'm not a lyrical guy on the whole, but Tillman is 3 for 3 in terms of grabbing my lyrical ear; this album being his most glaringly verbose.

I went into it with high hopes and got the turd I got. Maybe I'm being overdramatic but I fucking hate this beyond words. I haven't hated an album this much since Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz. I just hope Mew delivers. It's my next album I'm currently highly anticipating

Well I'm glad you agree. Meanwhile FJM is laughing about you laughing at those that hate it which makes him laugh. He knew whether people hated or loved it it would work. And it works, but not on me. It's liberalism simplified: got those under mind control giggling while they're the ones he's giggling about. It's all pure comedy and he's getting the last laugh. But it really speaks in volumes, at least to me. I kinda feel this album is like a psychological study. There's nothing here any human should like (monotony, self-aggrandation), but for some unforeseen reason they do anyway. He's prolly a reptile.
Anyway this sucks and now I'm gonna watch conspiracy theories.
