It is definitely possible, I find wide stretches of this album to be proof enough of that. These guys do get lucky with just barely enough frequency to make this album somewhat bearable (though it helps that the last minute of this album is the best by far), but there are plenty of times here where the vocals, the lyrics, and/or the monkey-at-a-typewriter songwriting are so egregious that no amount of technical ability can save them.

Acceptance Speech's production only bothers me on Carve because I FUCKING KNOW the instrumentation there is sick, but I can't decephyer a thing. I actually think that otherwise it grants the album nice, hazy atmosphere, and makes Tilian'S vocals kind of haunting.
