Well I thought we'd moved on to Seinfeld but no we're still pissing in the fucking wind about a highly subjective art form.

I don't have a lot to say about it, a short sound off, a 2.5 rating and I'll probably still check her next album to see if I prefer it

It is painfully self consciously arty - you must at least admit that. the next distinction is whether you think that it is great at being that. I don't.

Toad I mean the affected artiness of the project overshoots her ability to make a compelling complete album so the first definition

You know I'm at the point I might surrender to Pots here as I think honestly the common usage of 'pretentious' has maybe changed a bit through misuse - the intention side is hard to back up, although everything to do with the album does scream 'I'm making an incredibly serious artistic statement' and I don't think she cashes that cheque, I don't see any ill intent on her part. There isn't really another catch-all phrase to replace it though.

i don't know dude this is like not the oh people don't like me sadness

i can't fucking shake this off, my self esteem is down in the gutter, i can't make any eye contact with all kinds of people, i fucking lie to everyone about how i feel and what i do, sometimes i just sit on fucking trains and think as they just go from one station to another

check my review for the answer ;]

But for real, it's a really great album that's got some really colorful production on it. Plus the lyrics are worth digging into, so it's all good mane.

Dearest Carly,

Sorry for insinuating that your music is in any way vapid, two dimensional or lacking creativity or soul. It may have taken Sach's tirade on my shoutbox to open my eyes and ears but I can now see the error of my ways and what a naïve individual I was to believe that pop was somehow inferior to other genres of music.

P.S sorry for rating you a solid 5.5, I mean yes you could park a small truck between your eyes and you're flat as a pancake but that's all superficial, unlike your music which really pierces the soul.

Kind Regards,

BallsDeep
