'All of their album openers since Permanent Waves could be considered the stand out track on their respective albums eh Titan? Think about them all...which one is your favorite? Animate is so good.'

A lot of good ones for sure......not including epics like 2112 or Hemispheres, my favorite openers are Anthem, Spirit, Dreamline, and Tom Sawyer.....they all rock though and yes, Animate is pretty great too imo

Is Signals considered a synth album? Good question eh?

I believe all their 80s albums are considered to be their synth era, with Presto beginning the transition away from it.

the official 'synth era' started with Signals teamster, even though they have used synths in their late 70's and early 80's output......the synth era is categorized as when the synthesizers became the driving force of the songs....obviously, their prog era is synth heavy as well but isn't considered the 'synth era'.....power windows is the strongest in terms of synthesizer use of the bunch......it ended with presto (barely), where roll the bones brought alex back in to the front of the majority of their songs

:D

i wouldn't say perm waves and moving pictures are synth period albums... starts with signals, ends kinda with presto i guess

ya some of em come off as real creepy, like they are obsessed with the members more than the music

i am obsessed with their music but if i saw geddy i'd shake his dick and move on. no need to have a breakdown and look like a bitch
