Still think the last few songs toward the end feel a bit dull. It's definitely the first half/middle for me, with Decks Dark and now Identikit as the standouts.

I assume that is the duller closing bunch from the album.

This works so well as a thematic and sonic whole though. And I'm sure it's been said already but From the Basement: A Moon Shaped Pool absolutely 100% needs to happen yesterday

Ironically, True Love Waits is my least favorite song on the album. I absolutely love the acoustic version from the I Might Be Wrong live record. I almost NEVER love live recordings better than studio recordings.

But this version just doesn't do it for me. The piano is disjointed and arrhythmic, and the dissonant piano is mixed way too loudly at times.

I still like it a fair amount, but it's definitely the only track I sometimes skip on a listen through.

Ful Stop and Present Tense are definetly the best tracks in here. I'm not that enthusiastic for the album closer as many here seem to be, maybe I have to give it more tries.

The second half would have been perfect if it wasn't for the album's closer.

Maybe I'm just too attached to the mythos of Thom Yorke, but the transformation of True Love Waits from a song of desperation to a song of surrender was one of the most emotionally affecting musical moments of the year for me.

Doofus and letsgofishing: Totally get what you're saying. I understand the transformation, and I like it conceptually. I just don't really like the way they executed it. If they had toned down the piano a little bit, I think I probably would have liked it a lot more. Instead, it's just kind of abrasive to me.

BTW, I've listened to this song at least 20 times. It's grown on me slightly, but I don't think I'm going to suddenly have an epiphany that it's the best thing ever.

the vulnerable, defeated piano version is so much better than the live one
