"Glad we agree even tho we have completely polar opinions of the albe"
i've got major sentimentality attached to grimes ngl. i listened to this a lot more and payed a lot more attention and put a lot more effort into finding things i like than i would with another album i'm just listening to. and i did find things i genuinely like about it and i honestly think it's a great album but i can definitely see how someone wouldn't enjoy it.

"i think he meant "my english sucks" but unfortunately english sucks"
no trust me i meant english sucks. it's my first language but the fact that one stressed word or one comma can change the entire meaning of a sentence is crazy. pronunciation, homophones, idioms, etc.

if you're gonna criticise english for that you might as well criticise other languages for the fact that the same phrase could be said once in english with one suffix and eight times in french for example with different suffixes

Idk man depends on what you want to express. English can be very versatile and descriptive. German can be incredibly pragmatic and concise (which makes it good for science).

Philosophy tends to be bit on the rambly side, though. Don't try to read Hegel, Kant and Wittgenstein after one another you'll go mad.

the fact that different modifiers and punctuation can change the meaning of a sentence means my english sucks.

well, kind of. if you grew up with it as your first language you should probably be familiar with things like that. not hating, but thats what i think.

you can change the entire meaning of a sentence by including/excluding accents on a single letter in other languages, english isn't especially sucky

i am. if forgetting to put a comma in a sentence online means your english sucks then i feel awful for all the people who learn it as a second language

i still feel dirty for reading foucault in english

Album Rating: 3.0
Probably still better than Incredibly Loud and Extremely Close. Hands down my least favorite English literature thing I had to read ever (also: worse than most philosophy works I read, I'd rather read Wittgenstein)
Apart from some really dumb short story where a woman was described like a beverage ("She was cool and fresh in the hot night")

What do you mean? I never read Foucault - just jokes about him.
Oh holy shit this reminds me that I luckily never had to delve too much into Rand - probably one of the worst philosophies out there IMO.
