"mineral are incredible but not a good entry point into 90s emo or emo in general."

they can seem dull or one-sided to the uninitiated emo listener (like myself years ago)

if we're talking EPs by these guys OG formlessness is really the only one that matters

i feel mineral gives the perfect idea of the 90s emo aesthetic, plus they're quite accessible

death to new years is my favorite twiabp ep (although that might be because i was so positively surprised for that after the spoken-word garbage)

i agree with the first part but i don't consider them nearly as accessible as the more poppy stuff like AF or JEW

spoken-word garbage is fine, it's that david bello fellow that irks me

well, static prevails i'd consider as emo for sure but clarity already has so strong pop rock vibes it's not really the same thing anymore

"I downloaded that and a There Will Be Fireworks album at the same time a couple years ago and don't recall being able to tell them apart."

Craziest thing I've read on this site in a while.

Give There Will Be Fireworks another shot for the love of God.
