Just like Exoplanet, the production of this album is really weak. Sad, because there's a lot going on here musically.

The production doesn't bother me at all, the only real flaw I found was that the death metal sections seemed a but awkward. Much better than on the previous album though.

The mix is really muddy in the heavier sections. It takes away all the real heaviness that those parts could have had. In the lighter, jazzier sections I find it's less of a problem.

The rediscovered songs vibe p hard. I could see post-metal-only Contortionist being alright.

yuck! vocals were all over the place, way softer than their other albums. Just a mess of chaotic bullshit. Awful album.

I never listened to their past albums but this is slowly growing on me. I think the singer has a nice voice, and Primordial Sound is such a good song.

It's just a bunch of mellow progressive metal stuff with no compelling dynamics.



The fact that it isn't as heavy is also a factor. It just doesn't hit hard whatsoever.

Yeah this pales in comparison to their older work, but I wouldn't say it's because of the lack of heaviness or deathcore elements.

Exoplanet is just a better album. Better writing, more dynamic flow, better performances.

Exactly. Exoplanet just really felt like them firing on all cylinders. This just....meh. Its a shame too cause this was something I really wanted to like.

This is better written but a less captivating listen imo
