Was Fringe actually good? My friend has bad taste in TV and liked it a lot so I figured it was just some pandering garbage lol. Not really a fan of JJ Abrams anyways. Idk what CW is lol but I haven't watched it

Oh it's the network name haha.

And dude JJ Abrams is so awesome. Lost is prob one of my favorite shows ever along with Breaking Bad and Sons.

This conversation made me feel like ranking my favorite TV shows:

Breaking Bad>X-Files>GOT>Lost>Sherlock>both Avatars>TWD>24>Dexter

I watched the first two episodes of Fringe and couldn't get into it at all, but multiple people have told me most of season 1 is mediocre but it gets great at the end and throughout season 2, and apparently the finale rules too. It's very influenced by X-Files though, I'll watch it eventually.

I wasn't super big on Lost, and Alias was pretty alright depending on what storyline they were going through, but I absolutely loved Fringe. The first season can be a bit rocky at times, but once it gets its footing, it's pretty great and it doesn't really let up after that.

Nikita? Is that like La Femme Nikita? I don't know why that made me think of that name. It might be something entirely different than what you are talking about, Mongi.

It's too bad because Lost, X-Files, and Dexter all have pretty disappointing endings, though Lost probably has the best one of the three. Still holding out for a third X-Files movie to wrap up the story after that mediocre second one that didn't have to do with anything.

@ec actually that was te first show. The first show you mentioned was based on the original French film. Whether or not it
was rebooted or re made, Nikita is the show that came after it on CW. Never watched the one you said but Whatever CWs
version of it was was fantastic.

No one I know understands what even happened at the end, it's so vague and confusing I don't think the creators even knew lol

From my point of view that's not really the point. Yea we didn't get straight answers, but it's all about what the characters need and the emotional wait of it. The creators even said this: the point was to make all of these people realize that, even though it sounds cheesy, that all they really needed was each other. Jack needed to die because he had accomplished what he needed and everyone else got off the island that needed to. The flash sideways was just an alternative purgatory timeline that emphasized the point of then just needed each other. Really, I nearly cry sometimes when some of them find out about their loved ones from the real time line. Anyway, that's how I view it

Yeah I figured that stuff out, the flash sideways was pretty pointless. It's just annoying that it turned into a full blown sci-

fi show in the second half only to turn it into them going to heaven together, and it just leaves a lot of questions

unanswered, like "what was the point of any of this, what was the island, etc." I can usually appreciate ambiguous

endings, but it felt like they just had no idea what they were doing and they were basically sending the message that it

was all nonsense. Though I liked some of the stuff that happened on the island at the end, and Jack's death was very

emotional, along with Ben and Locke forgiving each other outside the church.

Yea I love everything on the island but the writers themselves said they had it planned all out. For me it wasn't all nonsense, meaning the flash sideways. It was a parallel reality created from the explosion. Whether it be inside on of the survivors heads or jut happenig somewhere else, it wasn't pointless. They were interesting as hell and like I said it was to further emphasis how much they needed each other and how everything would be okay if they went to together, it's the happy ending it needed.

As for the island, the island was simply the center of the most powerful force of electromagnetism in the world. It was just by pure fate(the main them of the show) that they all ended up together and crashed there. That's what it physically was and the magical aspects of the island is what made I an extradinory place like with the smoke monster and the voices everyone keeps hearing. It's really all open to your interpretation and IMO the answers should be left for you to decide. Like what do you think it was? Damn I can talk about this show for hours lol

Believe me, so could I, definitely one of the most intriguing and complicated TV shows since I guess The X-Files lol. But when I say nonsense I mean why some of these things happen. Atomic bombs don't create alternate realities, and how did Juliet not die when she was right next to it when it exploded? And I like the magical stuff too, but the smoke monster was another wtf part of the series, especially toward the end, as well as Jacob and The Man In Black's roles in the show, as interesting as it all was.

Yeah, that part with Jacob made even less sense when they tried to actually explain it. It just made me think of more questions, ha ha. Especially with the woman who raised them.

Season 6 is when the show fell apart despite having some strong moments. What was also annoying was how they killed

off so many main characters at the end for no reason.

Oh yea I'll agree with you there and even the writers themselves say that Across The Sea was a failed episode. What came after it was amazing and satisfying though.

I really need to rewatch the series, I've only seen season 6 once when it aired and had rewatched seasons 1-4 so much by then that I was sick of it, but I was only 14 or 15 at the time so I'd probably pick up on even more stuff watching it now.

Hopefully you all know about the epilogue mini-episode they made available online?
