damn I guess I just dont get the dislike for the bassist, I think hes awesome
im sorry if you saw a poor show, but both my experiences were solid and backing tracks were hardly noticeable
|

Mixing one of their shows must be a pain in the ass. It's no wonder there's so much inconsistency.
|

i meant more like im sorry that you didnt get to see as good of a show as i did, but then again yeah its quite evident that these guys arent a lot of peoples cup of tea

"1. the bassist - This guy just grosses me out. Not really much else I can say. I'm all for energy on the stage, but he needs to do less. "
THIS THIS THIS! Their bassist movements are fucking annoying as shit. He looks retarded on stage

Damn, did I just get lucky then? I think they put on a great show and the backing tracks were fine. You could hear them clearly but they didn't distract you from the live elements. I saw them on Friday, April 18th. Maybe they worked out some live mixing kinks by the time they came to Edmonton?
Also, the bassist is hilarious. He has the most "British-looking" face I've ever seen, but with metal hair and a bass guitar. He didn't seem over the top of annoying at my show at all.
By the time they came on, I'd watched like 3 hours of openers while standing. Intronaut and Cloudkicker weren't really my thing, just a huge blur of CHUGGA CHUGGA, so I was exhausted and it was midnight by the time these guys started, and even in my shitty mood I thought they were really good. One of those bucket list bands that doesn't stop in Western Canada too often. I still think The Faceless put on the best metal show though.

'reasons why this band puts on a terrible live show (imo):'
Where did you see them live? Was it a small club or more open? I went to manchester academy to watch them back in november and the sound was spot on. Could be the acoustics of the place you went to see them or just a poor mixing job.
I will agree with you that the band needs to lower down the backing tracks and have a bit more stage presence, but in terms of performance and sound quality they were brilliant for me.
|
| |
same them at a smallish club called one eyed jacks in new orleans. scale the summit played before them and sounded perfect and i've seen plenty of bands there and the sound is usually great
|
| |
yeah, ive never had a problem with the bassists...face myself, havent thought that was ever important
his playing on the other hand i find awesome especially on tracks like April
