It's so bright here. I like it.
Thinking about going to see them and Bayside early next year, so I thought I'd give this another go. Hot diggity, this is probably at least gonna make a 3.5

Mmmhmm.
I watched a show SF did last year, and Buddy does not do so well with the cleans from the old stuff. Luckily, the band is pretty good at doing back up vocals while he mostly just sticks to the harsh vox, if he can. His vocals are pretty spot on from everything they did from this, tho, especially his screams.
Bayside is great live. Vocals sound pretty much exactly like the albums, and their lead guitarist fucking rips and does some surprisingly good back up vox for Raneri.

Yeah I've heard lots of mixed things about SF live, most of it probably being negative but hey at least Buddy isn't gettin wasted before shows anymore. So there's that.
I've never really heard bayside live but them SF just seem like they'd go well together.
What's your deal with this album? It's pretty much my favorite since Still Searching

His stage presence was a little odd in the video I was watching, but it seemed like they put on a pretty good show, and as long as the rest of the band can pick up his slack on the clean vocals from the older stuff, I think it still works. I kinda wonder why they just don't change the key/tuning of the older songs so he can just sing them like he does on this.
I just found this really uninteresting at first. I missed the more intricate guitar parts they were doing on Still Searching and Life is not a Waiting Room, but I'm starting to appreciate this approach now. I'm def interested in how they will expand on it with the new album now, too.

idk i thought the new song was pretty disappointing. there's just nothing about it that wasn't already done on this album, but better

I liked this better than The Fire but like Ecnal was sayin I do miss the guitar work of their previous albums. 50/50 mix would be perf

Yaaaaasss
Dude buddy would murder that song these days, I mean he already did but imagine him re-recording all of their old tracks with his new harshes. I am pretty partial to his cleans on earlier albums so idk but it would def be interesting

I really like the new song they released "All You Have is Already Within You" or whatever. Love the last half especially

That guitarist they had from Midtown on SS and Waiting Room (Heath, I think) was fantastic. This band has seen so many line up changes tho, it's kind of hard to expect them to really retain much from the older stuff. Pretty sure Buddy is the only consistent member, right?
I think I like his cleans better now, but they have never been super great, so there's that.
