I think the original versions of the singles on this sound WAY better than the rerecording's, like idk what happened with IKYWT on the rerecording but it feels like its missing something. Overall rerecording is way better though

I don't like the lyrics as usual but the album is better than a lot of her stuff I've heard, I never got why this one is more hated

^ Late reply, but I think the avg comes from a few things:
1. Sowing's 2/5 review, which was the first staff review that came out for the album back then. And at the time, the staff rating had a lot more pull in regards to the overall album avg (see: Paramore s/t review)
2. Despite being well-received by critics when it came out, a lot of people weren't happy with Taylor's shift toward straight-up pop music. Especially after Speak Now, which many would argue was the peak of her country era
But, given the reception for Taylor's Version on here, I don't think the avg represents the general opinion as much anymore. But this is also my favorite TS album, so maybe I'm biased 🤷

It’s too high agreed
Respectfully
But I will say that sowing 2ing this and 5ing the new one is insane dissonance
