Short albums with no filler are awesome in my opinion. And yes, Master Of Reality and Pink Moon are perfect examples.

I generally don't dislike long albums because they are long, but nothing beats a well crafted short and sweet one for me.

I consider short and sweet something that lasts around 40 minutes but I'm fine with having something even shorter if it flows really well and has great replay value. Length for me can become a problem when an album gets to 55-60 minutes and beyond, especially because I'm a full listen kind of guy. Obviously, not if I really enjoy the experience. For example, I can enjoy Metheny's Offramp but I don't have problems in enjoying We Live Here too.

i think it's strange that DT released a 130 minute album, it's like way too long

for me, an album is long once it eclipses the 54 minute mark or so

130 minutes is definitely intimidating and it's something that requires a dedicated time. I could jam bits and pieces spreading it in a few days but I don't like the idea of breaking a (concept) album like that. When I'll be spiritually ready, I'll jam it all.

they shouldn't have released an album like that......to me, you take a chance on something like that when you're at a creative peak......it just doesn't work right now, especially with the fact that they've turned off so many fans over the last decade or so

Exactly. Not a bad album though and LaBrie's performance is one of the best of his career.
