The funk stuff is a holdover from their glam days. Man in the Box is kind of the bridge between their glam stuff and the sludgy grunge stuff.

This album is great but it's not a start to finish classic the way Dirt is. Bleed the Freak is legitimately their most underrated song though.

Slightly under Dirt for me, as I thought, and even if Bleed the Freak, Love, Hate, Love and in general the second half BANGS, there's nothing better than Would? imo! (or let's say I didn't like any of the tracks more than Would?)

They opened with Bleed the Freak when I saw them back in 2015, still to this day one of the most mind blowing things I’ve seen at a show. They played Sunshine that night too

Would? is definitely top tier AiC but I think We Die Young, Man in the Box and Bleed the Freak are all in that tier too with Sea of Sorrow, Love Hate Love, and It Aint Like That maybe just outside.
