Both albums are two great pieces of music in their own way. The same happens with “Grace For Drowning” of Steven Wilson. The three albums can be considered a kind of a trilogy for Wilson and Akerfeldt. They were all written at the same time.

Yes ^ all three albums I think represent Steven and Mikael in their best "fuck it, let's go avant garde" phase and simultaneously is some of their most daring and interesting stuff
