"unlike Weezy, where every song has a huge hook in it. There is a difference, believe it or not."
I just looked through Da Drought 3, Dedication 2 and Carter II and the majority of those songs don't even contain hooks. I'll check Carter III right now, just a second with that.
"Once again, more assumptions."
That's kind of what you said tho.
"He does. But he also has songs about getting out of the hood and becoming a better contributor to society. "
Yeah but the majority of Lifestylez is about the hardcore gangsta shit.

"Ok please get the fuck out of here are you seriously trying to talk about how Big L was positive fucking MC. Like honestly this is just ridiculous, I know you aren't that stupid. You absolutely can not be fucking serious. If you typed that with out any thought that "maybe I'm typing complete bullshit right now" then you're not even worth arguing with. Incredible, I'm still recoiling at the fucking audacity of that comment. Becoming a better fucking contributor to society, fucking amazing."
No, I never said he was a positive MC. I said he had a mixture of both. Please read my FULL COMMENTS before coming to a conclusion.
READ THE FULL COMMENT PLEASE
Just making sure you do.

Also Lil Wayne is one of the most creative MCs in terms of thinking up metaphors. Granted a lot of his stuff is bullshit, but if you say that he can't come up with something original then you're just wrong. I'm pretty conflicted about Lil Wayne, but the part I like about him I like for the same reason I like GZA. They say things that you wouldn't hear from anyone else.

No, what I said was I appreciate lyrical content more than I appreciate Lil Wayne. Once again, make more assumptions.
"Yeah but the majority of Lifestylez is about the hardcore gangsta shit."
You're right, but how about you listen to his mixtapes and demos before you come to a full conclusion on what he was all about, okay?

You're right there. Too bad most of them don't make sense.
He doesn't even have his own signature flow anymore, so how can you say he's original?

I have. I've even have a lot of his radio show spittin and his cyphers on my computer.

Yeah, but in your defense of Big L's punchlines you said it was okay because he "actually said something" with them, and then your definition of "saying something" is that conscious stuff.

Seriously the only word I can use is dense. You keep using this same tactic of diminishing my arguments (and Gabe's) by interpreting our words in only the most literal sense possible. Obviously you didn't say Big L was exclusively positive but Lil Wayne is just as positive as Big L ever was.
Your hypocrisy is ridiculous. You have Big Pun at 5, he wasn't positive at all.

Yeah, so that ONE statement means I only listen to socially conscious rappers. Way to make a giant leap.

Yeah, so Gabe saying that you think "saying something" means conscious content automatically means that he thinks you only listen to conscious rappers. Way to make a giant leap.

I keep using the same tactic because you guys keep asking me the same questions.
"Your hypocrisy is ridiculous. You have Big Pun at 5, he wasn't positive at all"
My god, you guys have been missing the fucking point. I never said a rapper had to be "positive." I never said a rapper has to be "socially conscious," neither. What I did say was that Lil Wayne says absolutely nothing. He takes a bunch of half-ass ideas and string them together to form a song. That doesn't mean I don't listen to "fun" rap. That just means I don't listen to Lil Wayne because he's garbage for the most part.

Idnuf, you are truly an idiot.

That's not what I was saying with that statement. You were saying that Big L's punchlines were good as opposed to Wayne because he was "saying something", then you described "saying something" as the conscious stuff, so that was saying Big L's punchlines were better than Lil Wayne's because as opposed to Lil Wayne he was being positive with them.

Jesus Christ..... how many times do I have to explain that "saying something" doesn't always have to mean "socially conscious." It means MAKING SENSE.
