It sucks than only Vulgar onwards is available on Spotify for these guys, I love the albums prior.
I’ll check some more live stuff, should tide me over whilst I’m waiting for the new record.
It’s cool they’re playing London this year even if thats nowhere near me haha, still gonna book tickets though.

Tickets won't be expensive I imagine and travel is cheap if I can book train tickets early.

Alright, I'll give you a starter pack since their lives bring a new life to their recorded stuff.
Firstly all of the lives outside the modes are here (you can find the modes on Rutracker): https://theninjapanda.wordpress.com/downloads/live-dvds/
Probably the best few to start with are: - Dum Spiro Spero at Nippon Budokan (in my opinion, their peak)
- Tour 12-13 In Situ-Tabula Rasa (Kyo's best material as a singer, this is the live I started with)
- Mode Gauze (first Mode so it will start you off, shows the differences that the band can deliever their old stuff in the modern day).
- Blitz 5 Days (5 DVD's that summarises their early day career when Vulgar dropped, superb experience to go through one each day. The insane rabid crowd back in 2002/3 and the unique atmosphere it has shows that early Dir still has points in their career before Uroboros which are just as good as their later material).
See you in October Pleb, I'll asked if you watched any of these ;)

You can also add Tour 13 Ghoul because it's their only English subtitled documentary and it is so good. Would also be an excellent start actually.

Thanks calc, big help!
I'm so hyped, the bassist has said they're gonna play some older tracks!

No probs. I'm happy with the timing of this tour since there's more of a chance for earlier songs due to the tour being before the new album.

True.
As long as I hear Rinkaku and The Final I'll be one happy Pleb!

Wouldn't surprise me if one of these gets played, unsure whether both will though.

Final used to be a mainstay but has faded from their setlists recently.
Rinkaku is played pretty regularly, though.

You'll probably hear Sustain because the band just won't let this song go away apparently haha.

It's a solid track but definitely not one of my favourites.
I've gotta feeling the 2 newest singles will translate better live, though.

Ningen is going to be so good live as the opener, can't wait for that.

Yeah the chorus on that song bangs.
Hopefully the production is sorted on the new album though, it's very flat on the 2 singles.

The reason for it is because of the new engineers they got for those. We just got to hope that Tue takes over for the album else we'll have to wait for a live version to get the most out of them.

I love the sound of this album, so thick and monolithic.
Arche has decent production but the drums are extremely high in the mix.

I always prefer their live sound to their studio now so I'm too far gone to give comment on that lol. I love high mixed drums so I'm fine with that, the guitar leads for the solos and such are to me the easily the best sounding part of it.

I absolutely love it when the two guitarists harmonise, they have such a keen ear for melody.

That howl Kyo does towards the end of Beelzebub gets me every time.
