Yeah, I think you are right. I forgot that Nirvana were often praised for mixing pop and alternative/noise music. That quote might have been a response to that common belief. That was the aspect of their music that was seen as revolutionary by many. (They did revolutionise the rock climate to be fair)

Pink Turns to Blue is definitely one of the best songs ever put to tape.
"Yeah its obvious they also liked Sonic Youth, Black Flag, Big Black," I think that every one of the bands in this conversation is better than Nirvana though, despite thinking of In Utero as a classic.

Spun this yesterday and while I still love it, I think New Day Rising is my favorite these days. Can't deny that this could be trimmed a bit and be just fine. NDR is a much tighter listen
