Songs actually feel like real songs this time! COLORS was one of the most disappointing cds i've
ever heard because everyone thought it was awesome and i thought it was just a big mess. I could
take like 1 or 2 minutes in each song that were good and that's about it (ex: intro of Prequel To
The Sequel).
These guys should seriously stop playing metal because they just sound so repetitive and boring! As
soon as they play something else than random screaming over random blast-beats and random dissonant
chugging, they create some of my favorite moments of music.
On COLORS those moments just came out of nowhere. On The Great Misdirect they actually feel more
natural and the whole CD contains like only 20% of stupid metal. The songs are also more like songs
instead of going anywhere.
To resume: COLORS is shit and THE GREAT MISDIRECT is great (no pun intended).
P.S.: Swim To The Moon is a contender for song of the year.

@ qwe3
Swim to the Moon actually has a long build-up at the start, 3 choruses, an instrumental section in the middle and an end. But in every song from Colors we have like riff, riff, riff, riff, country section, riff, riff, riff, good section, riff, riff.

Disease, Injury, Madness has such an amazing solo, falls only a little short of the zenith that is the White Walls solo.

Reading all this, I can't help but wonder where are the other 397 people who voted Colors as a classic.

they died in The Great Explosion of '08.

since it's cool to hate on BTBAM now a lot of people dont like to admit they like em
|
| |
those people are cowards, to be honest. anyone who feels that way about any band (not just btbam) is.

I thought Colors was a classic, and this falls short of that, but not too short. its still a great album.

...so...I must be the last of my kind... oh the humanity!
In all seriousness, it's kinda sad they're all hiding under a rock now that it's trendy to hate on BTBAM. But it's also curoius how the people that like The Great Misdirect say that Colors isn't all that great (i.e. Hollier)...
|
| |
and that is the most confusing thing ever, Baph. i mean, they sound exactly the same.

true. although colors is better because of informal gluttony

come on now, qwe; how can you prefer informal gluttony over any other colors track which isn't the decade of statues?
