Take the most silly and overblown moments of Supper's Ready and make a whole song out of it and you get The

Battle of Epping Forest

the ironic theme doesnt detract from the quality of the song itself, you dont seem to have jammed battle properly

Dude it's a good song but Supper's Ready is all that and a warehouse full of mellotrons.

Supper's Ready is easily my top prog song of all time.

The climax in Apocalypse in 9/8 leading onwards is absolutely mental.

suppers ready is better and prob their best or 2nd best, i wasnt comparing them though, i was just saying that battle is on the same level with the other 3 big songs on selling england

Battle is definitely not on the same level as the other 3 epics on Selling England for me. Still great though.

Yeah, it faces very tough competition from Moonlit Knight, Firth of Fifth and Cinema Show, but still rules.

Despite the fact that Battle is compacted into a sea of words, and would be pretty much already complete instrumentally, song is still in my top ten (Gabriel era).

Even if it doesn't live up to the others as an overall song it does have Gabriel at his eccentric and charismatic best.

I had them wiped a while ago by request as I wasn't happy with a lot of them and it seemed like a better idea than going back through and editing them or removing the ones I haven't listened to in years. I transferred a lot of them over to RateYourMusic and will probably start rating properly again on here at some point.
