The drumming on this album is pretty boring, but when I saw them live, he did a great job playing the old stuff.

So his problem isn't ability, it's inspiration and imagination?

Exactly that actually, Drover is certainly a capable drummer but when it comes to his songwriting his stuff is really by the book.

I mean Dave Mustaine kind of talked shit about the two-dimensional drummer on So Far, So Good compared to Gar and Nick, but now he basically has the same thing -- more talented, I guess, but not more creative.

Pretty fucked how? Like drugged out? Apparently he used to do coke or whatever back during the Rust in Peace sessions but I thought he cleaned up.

I can't get to Youtube at work, but I'll check the link at home. Nick was Chuck Behler's drum tech and friend during the So Far, So Good tour and Chuck was Gar's drum tech and friend during most of the Peace Sells tour so you can see how the drug use at the drum position kind of never rotated out of the band.

Damn, Nick does look like shit. I guess the current drummer will be just fine. It's better than watching someone slowly decay.

I wouldn't call this a 5, but in my opinion it is between a 4-4.5. This is the strongest work that Dave and Co. in years. In fact, it is one of my favorite records he has done. I am anxious to see where they go next. Dare I hope they don't take another Risk.
