remix?
the third paragraph in this review is really really interesting, those are some smart observations.
doesn't stop this from being any less incredible though

Great review. I feel just alike, Thrice has been setting very high standard and this is not bad at all but it lacks the magic that Vheissu and Alchemy Indexes had. It's like a relaxing interlude in their discography, or so I hope.

Album's really great, but hopefully they go all out on the next one and don't stay with the "undercutting expectations" approach.

The title track is probably the best thing on here.

All the World is Mad and a few others are a little repetitive, but otherwise a fantastic album.
Nothing unexpected though *cough cough Image of the Invisible*

I must confess this one really took a while to grow on me, but currently it's kinda turning into my favorite Thrice record.

I dig the cruisy melancholy vibe of tracks like in exile, circles + wood and wire

I like this one quite a bit but prefer Vheissu slightly. This is pretty consistent though. The B-sides were good too.

I find this to be more solid than Vheissu, but Vheissu has some songs that blow this album in its entirety out of the water. I feel like every song on here has somewhat of a classic vibe, but almost none of them seem to be masterpieces like Of Dust And Nations and Stand And Feel Your Worth.

Of Dust And Nations
HELL YEAH, absolutely Awesome song.
Vibe and atmosphere are in every way fantastic with this band.
And most of all it's their ability to transform them so damn sweetly.

I really like the mellow vibe of this album. Thrice has definitely evolved for the better through their albums. I'd say alchemy index is my favorite.
Top tracks on this are In Exile, Talking Through Glass and Beggars.
Vheissu is overrated...

Most confounding is what may be a guest appearance by or a careful sampling of Coldplay's Chris Martin at 2:45 into "In Exile."
Derivative and unnecessary. Sounds like Dustin to me... This album is their best IMHO, they are toning down the distortion and writing phenomenal songs, and breaking away from a saturated post-hardcore template. This sounds like what Incubus should have been post-Morning View, but it's Thrice. Which is fine with me.
