fair enough. for me it ticks all the boxes well and truly.

it is by all means a 'perfect' album in many aesthetical senses, but imo it's not the sort of album that will be heralded in however many years as a landmark or a pinnacle, just a very good album that made death metal fans realise there's a country next to australia

though i guess the way they play and combine certain influences is somewhat unique

mmm i can see what you mean but really i dont think being a landmark changes how i feel about an album, apart from initial interest.



i think the instrumentation on this album is really a step above pretty much all other death metal i have heard, and their sound (on this album anyway) is past the point of just emulating influences.

I'm with rasputin here, it does feel perfect in that it does what it set out to do basically flawlessly, but there's just not that timeless factor here that can push an album to 'classic' status

yeah the sound and composition itself can be described as perfect, but i woulnt rate an album 5 purely for that. it's definitely essential for death metal listeners though, so it gets an easy 4/5 from me

i guess this album just really does it for me. theres other albums that i would see in that regard as being basically perfect but wouldnt give 5, so i can understand that.

I want something else that sounds like this really bad.
