Yeah cinema did feel like it has the potential to become a favorite track after more listens.

I honestly think Jeff’s voice has gotten better and better. I far prefer his deep, bellowing and guttural screams in the new album vs the more high pitched metal core/underoath TOCS style vocals on OOD. That vocal style always takes a minute to grow on me, for every band I listen to that incorporates it, it seems. And OOD has def been growing on me exponentially.

I didn’t really like TOCS at first (I started with DtGL), but after a couple listens it became incredibly addictive earworm shit.

his screams are definitely good for the age and time off on the new one. cleans feel a lot weaker to me sadly. maybe it's just the structure but idk he can't carry a tune singing like he does on this. much more texture than a good performance.

Cleans are a little step down but it didn't impact my enjoyment

Hooks on TOCS are legendary. Def my favorite scenecore album

That track is one of my tops, some of Jeff's best vocals

I'd 4.5 this if it didn't have Are You Anywhere and Makeshift Clay You. Don't really rate the former and the latter doesn't flow well at all within the record.

But as expected, the closing track takes us to greater places.

This one is taking the longest to grow on me. But I mean that in a good way. It has more to unpack, if that makes sense

Something about the lyrics to Pamplemousse really clicking with me. Still prob my fav track at this point. Just love the slow burn of the eerie, darkly beautiful vibe/melody, full of foreboding and dread, crescendoing with that explosive finale.

It’s a patient song that rewards in spades. I feel that’s this album in a nutshell. Like you have to be patient with it to reap the “rewards”. Thats how it’s feeling for me right now at least, score is definitely tentative.

That sudden end on Antarctica gets me every fucking time, especially when I have my AirPods in and phone in pocket. Always certain I butt-switched the track (pretty common with my phone in pocket listening).
