Yeah well it wasn't, so now we are stuck with an album that sounds like it was mastered by a deaf person.
There are some seriously good (read: Not great) songs there as well and they end up sounding lame due to the hacked production.
You do know there's about 5-6 fan remasters that are all vastly superior to the retail version, right? I agree, album gets too much hate, I've been listening to it quite a bit lately and it's still Metallica's best record since AJFA/Black.
