Yeah that is what I did, checked this first, then Ege Bamyasi, followed by Future Days, and then went back here. Was nice! It puts it in context a little, which always helps.

I decided that I like listening to Ege Bamyasi a bit more because of its brevity, but I'll come back to this, it's certainly excellent. love "paperhouse" so much

Yeah, Bamyasi is a much easier listen for that sweet runtime, but last night I was having trouble winding down and ended up putting Tago Mago on for the first time in I dunno years and years, and maybe it was the hour and mindset, but I was blown away. Stretches I'd probably convinced my younger self to "like" seemed riddled with purpose and vision. Perfect music for the times

Ege Bamyasi is just wonderful. Side A and B of this are easily on par, maybe even better. Sides C and (especially) D lose me just a tad, and are ultimately responsible for this being only my third favorite CAN behind Ege and Future Days.

The time has come my friend.

I should have listened to this in August but I had not much material for December and wanted to save a couple of heavyweights for this time of the year.

Well, anything up to Aumgn and Peking O is amazing, like, truly mindblowing shit for a decade that had just started, but man those 2 tracks were nope lol

Loved the closer too.

this is captivating. the sheer confidence of this album is laudable, and it's only a sophomore effort?

first half is some of the most well-textured and dynamic psych rock I've ever heard, and that second half...man (avant garde drone or something on Aumgn? I don't even know what to call Peking-O). drummer has got some beastly chops

I'm amazed by this. Monster Movie left me feeling a bit skeptical but I am absolutely on board with whatever Can has got going on now

I don't mind Aumgn, but Peking O is outright dumb.
The other tracks aren't really anything too special. It's ok to listen to. Nothing really revolutionary, I don't understand the reviews. I like Faust, Neu! and other 'Krautrock' better than this.
