How did that W/L spin go?
I want to single a track out, but they are all fucking incredible. The Lift 1/2/3 experience is really something else.

why'd I sleep on these guys for so long? I was getting into post metal around 2012 and checked these guys out but i was more drawn to Neurosis for some reason. I'm glad i finally gave them the time. super dope album.

Apples and Oragnes, IMO. Personally I feel like Rosetta 1-3 (and on some days even 4) is the best stretch in post.

I preferred it to this, however the 15 minute ambient track definitely tested my patience. Tried aDOM as well & that was the best yet.

Ye but rosetta are isis babies, neurosis kind of stands apart from most post metal bands in terms of sound

Neurosis are more interesting agreed & then there’s CoL. ISIS are kind of overrated, good mind. These guys are more than decent. All relative.

I get a post-metal sound from these guys that I don't hear anywhere else. They perfected "space metal."

I just think those bands are all so different and all so good in their own way. Really, I never felt like Neurosis really fits in the Isis / CoL / Pelican genre all that well anyway. And even those three bands sound nothing alike.

Apart from being the same basic genre, I'd actually agree with this, they all have their own unique sound. (I'm choosing to substitute Pelican for The Ocean and/or Russian Circles because I haven't actually heard Pelican yet).
Essentially from the admittedly limited experience I have of post-metal & related items, it's a versatile genre, much more so than it's given credit for.

Pelican can be pretty dope, man. Start with The Fire in Our Throats. Holy fuck that opener.

Don't worry, I definitely intend to, just haven't gotten around to them yet. Made a 'to listen' list for this year & Pelican were included.
