Yea going out on a high and also leaving it's huge permanent mark. And what a beautiful mark it is.

I slightly prefer this one in terms of quality, but Spirit of Eden would make an equally good starting point.

Hmmmm. I kind of wanted to work my way up to this, but I wasn't sure if there were any albums I should specifically skip. I'll just start with their second or third album.

I still gotta try their first three but I can imagine the growth to this amazing monster is nothing short of gratifying. Spirit of Eden is also sweet though.

The Colour of Spring is the one to start with, then. And it's actually the only one worth listening among their early discog in my opinion. The rest is extremely well-crafted 80s pop, I just personally can't stand that era of music, but it might differ for you

The Colour of Spring is pretty amazing Chamber Pop album.

i second the color of spring, it's the biggest single step up between any of their albums. A lot of the more jazzy/ambient touches that come to the fore on this and spirit of eden, but retaining the solid pop songwriting of the previous two albums as well

Color of Spring is definitely a great starting point

the none-more-80s production is quite hard to get past (esp the fucking gated reverb on the snare drums) but there's gold if you dig deep enough

this might be the most important record ever
