True Love Waits has a lot of meaning for us long time fans who saw it transform from this youthful song of yearning about some idealized ex-partner into a dirge of mourning about Yorke's ex-wife who died of cancer.
This record always makes me painfully sad and True Love Waits is the final 99 daggers.

Daydreaming, Present Tense, Decks Dark, Ful Stop, Ill Wind, True Love Waits, and Glass Eyes are my favs from this mid 2010s era of the band.

is it a hot take to say i'm not crazy about how they approached TLW here
I mean, it's beautiful and all, but given the context of it (finally) being given the record treatment, i feel like it loses the wistfulness that balanced it out on earlier recordings

Alright folks give me your album re-orders with Ill Wind
I'm ready to re-experience this (haven't listened through in at least a year, and not with the b-side at all)

"So when u have different opinions they are hot takes but when other people do they are edgey got it lol"
taking issue with a studio version of a 2-decade old song is a bit of a different "ballgame" than dismissing an entire decade of their material

@SowingSeason tbh i'd just say throw Spectre + Ill in there & put it on shuffle. i've yet to actually come up with a track sequencing i find fully satisfying but at least when i spin the Moon on shuffle i'll be pleasantly surprised hearing each song on its own merits

Agreed. The actual songs are great-superb, but to me there's just no real sense of flow here. That puts me off big time.

drop The Numbers and Desert Island and add the two b-sides and you've defs got a slightly better album
