"you know what they say, every English Baroque Soloists/Monteverdi Choir Bach: Mass in B minor [Gardiner] has its Quoniam tu solus sanctus"
Yeah, you're right, lmao.

'(because of Fitter Happier).'
That's a genius interlude - one of the best thematic interludes I can think of :/
Surprised anyone who like 'Ok Computer' as a whole doesn't think 'Fitter Happier' is one of the key moments on the album
It's not one to fill a dance floor or put on a mixtape but it's undeniably great

Sure thematically it works, and in the placement of the album, but I don't really enjoy listening to it the way I do the 11 real songs on there. I think robovoice aesthetically is something I'm not that big on, like distorted vocals, even auto-tune or whatever usually turns me off a bit in a song.

Nah fitter happier is great, Electioneering is the real dud on that album !

As soon as the album was called 'Ok Computer' it was always gonna have a robo voice
Judging it as 'another song' is not right imo, but I guess it isn't amazingly enjoyable. I'm not sure it's intentions are of enjoyment - it's more there to provoke
Provoke thought, provoke a little revulsion, provoke some self examination....I guess maybe it made more sense at the time of release

Lol I don’t think much has changed in the meaning of that song since 1998

I think a few reviews at the time said having 'Fitter', 'Electioneering' and 'Climbing' all running into one another makes for an overly grim and 'atypical' passage on the album.
Three ugly songs in a row - but I think it works ok, gives the album some fangs. They prob are the worst three songs individually and collectively but they're still good.

Electioneering is amazing
Doof I pretty much agree, Fitter Happier just kinda stuck out to me cause it's a robovoice saying these wacky things and the the album overall is so lush and beautiful most of the time. When I think about it now something would feel missing if it wasn't there, so it doesn't detract I s'pose. That's true also that the three darker songs are together in the track listing, which makes sense.

'Lol I don’t think much has changed in the meaning of that song since 1998'
It's more loads of people have released very similar dystopian messages through music and other mediums since - in 1997 it was something that made you sit up, it didn't sound like anything else in the mainstream, it was just delivered differently and seemed unique and direct

I get what you’re saying Doof, bro. I do think that song in particular goes into those themes and captures a certain feeling better than most. It certainly wasn’t the first, but it was different.
Faust Arp is still top 10 Radiohead!

Judging interludes as full songs is silly. Fitter happier is chilling and perfectly fits the tone of the album
the robots are gaining sentience, and they aren’t happy about it

You can skip it, but that doesn’t mean it basically defined the album, least from my perception
